I loved that most things we wanted to do were within easy walking distance, even for my 88 year old mother who was with me. Directions to the hotel were easy to follow; parking was wonderfully convenient; the Discover Charleston package was a terrific introduction to the city and a good value; our two-room suite was simply delightful; the afternoon sherry was a charming and much appreciated touch; and the staff could not have been more helpful.  My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We flew in around midnite and the airline lost our baggage. By the time we got to Kings Courtyard, we were exhausted and irritated. The front desk person was wonderful, sympathetic and helpful. We had a glass of sherry while she found essentials for us to use. The room was lovely, breakfast was more than we expected and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Front door leads to King Street with high end shopping, back door leads to Market street with vendors, wonderful shops and eateries. We were only able to spend 4 days in the lovely city and are definitely going back- and staying at Kings Courtyard!

Charming Inn

I continue to return to the Kings Courtyard Inn in Charleston for their hospitality and beautiful rooms. The staff is courtieous and always delighted to see me return for another stay. The bedrooms are large and decorated in the "Southern Style", some with four poster beds, some with a canopy, and all have oriental rugs, which makes the stay special. Some of the rooms have flat screen televisions now and Jennifer made sure that I had one that was comfortable to view from my bed. I will continue to return to this inn because I feel welcome and I also enjoy the wine and cheese in the afternoon and a lovely breakfast each morning. The location is perfect for touring Charleston on foot and enjoying wonderful restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. It was also within walking distance of my classes at the College of Charleston. Not to mention that there is a convenient parking lot in the rear of the hotel for my car.
